The first hour …

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph the first hour of a very anticipated baby girl. Sarah and Mike are at the head of a student ministry and an amazing loving family. That is, a family now. Last week Thursday Sarah gave birth to sweet little Camila Renee, and I had the privilege of being able to slip into the delivery room after Camila was born.

Mike was my youth pastor in high school, and I have worked with Sarah on a number of weddings and sessions over the past year. Both of them hold a special place in my heart, and I was so excited about meeting their little girl. They kept her name a secret for the ENTIRE pregnancy , and myself and the rest of the world (it seemed like that) were dying to find out what her name was. Just as I wrapped up Anna Beth’s session at the USC Horseshoe, Mike and Sarah texted me that little Camila (Caahh-MEEE-la) had arrived. I rushed over to the hospital and got to witness her first hour.

Though I was incredibly nervous about photographing a photographer’s first child’s first hour (that’s a tongue twister!), I had a great time. I am so honored that Sarah and Mike trusted me with Camila’s first few moments and invited me into this special time with their family. Now YOU get to meet little Mila!

Mike is already smitten …

First family photo!:)

Then Camila got to meet her grandparents. Such sweet reactions from Sarah’s mother and father!

Sarah looked amazing right after the delivery, and it’s obvious that she is smitten too…

Look at these little feet!

See what I’m talking about? SMITTEN.

Welcome to the world sweet little Camila! You are so loved already!
