DIY: Tea latte

There is nothing like getting home from a long shift at Rubys with a few million images to go over and making some hot tea to begin the relaxation process. Or waking up and making some tea to get the day started with my Bible and journal. Or sharing a heart to heart with my roommates over some steaming little tea treat.

If you cannot tell, I love tea. Hot tea to be exact! I also LOVE Starbucks’s Tazo tea lattes, but not the price. Really, who has 4 bucks to spend on a little tea treat every day!? In lue of my broke-college-student-ways, I taught myself how to make some super yummy tea lattes from home! And without the crazy price.

All you need is your favorite dark or black tea (Tazo teas are my FAVEE), some milk, sugar, water, and your favorite mug.

1. Start with filling up where you are going to heat up your milk and water with MILK first. Then use your faucet to finish your desired amount of liquid with water. With a stronger stream of water, the most bubbly your milk will become. That means there is more air the milk, which makes it sweeter!

2. Then pop that sweet little milk/water mixture into the microwave and get your tea ready!

My favorite is Tazo’s Awake. Its divine at any time of day.

3. Pull out your warmed liquid and drop the tea bag in and just wait it out! You may want to wait a little bit long than on regular tea since you want a stronger flavor in your milk/water stuffs.

4. Add the desired amount of sugar and just sit back and enjoy. Enjoy not paying 4 bucks for a perfect tea latte!

Uh I love this. I too adore Starbucks tea lattes (HELLO, London Fog!), and I too am disgusted with their pricetag. Love this tutorial! I’m totally making one when I get home!
