Beauty Faves: June Dislikes

What!? A blog about products I did not like for a Beauty Faves post?! Is this real life? I usually almost ALWAYS like the products I try, that is until I find another product I like a little more. Ha!

But this month, or really last month and this month, I have been trying so many products. I wanted to share  a few I did not like, and tomorrow I will be post my Beauty Faves blog for June with the replacements or the products I would suggest in their place. So, here we go!!

L’oreal Paris: True Match

I have been looking for a good foundation for a while, and I saw this one on sale at Ulta. A Youtuber I follow suggested this foundation, so for four dollars, I picked it up. Well, a good deal is not always a good deal. This formula was SO runny and had a deep orange and yellow tint to the shade. I wore this for two days, and my oil level on my face was outrageous.

Needless to say, I would not suggest this foundation, and I actually do not advocate buying a foundation without actually INVESTING and INVESTIGATING in what you are buying.

Erase Paste by Benefit

Now if you have been following my Beauty Faves posts, I am a huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics. Yet, I have found a product I was not a fan of by Benefit. Now that I have watched a few videos on Youtube about this product, I realized I had been using wrong, but I still think I would avoid it anyways.

Erase Paste is a brightener for under your concealer, but it is SO thick. Yuck. I felt like I was applying concrete to my eyes. I may actually purchase this again in a lighter shade and try it out the RIGHT way, but still the thick consistency was too much for me.

Smashbox’s Limitless Eyeliner

I thought I’d love this eyeliner, but it had so many problems with my eyes. I made my eyes itch, it did not last for more than two hours, and I could not find a color that I loved for my eyes. All in all, it was NOT 18 dollars well spent. Booo, but I have found one I love, so that’s a positive!

I know today I reviewed products I did not like, but tomorrow I will be showing products that I loved recently! See you tomorrow, and I hope I helped you all avoid buying products that would only waste your money!

Happy Tuesday!

Monday Madness!

You know how I struggle with witty titles and all, so I just decided to skip over that five-minute-long struggle this morning. I mean, it IS Monday, so cut me some slack.

I honestly am so so blessed and just cannot stop smiling today. It so great to know that God is providing and to be aware of the challenges set before me. This weekend was a bit of a whirlwind! Friday, I had many things to get done and go over, and Saturday was my first day working at my new store for my serving job! Praise Jesus for working at a place where I did not walk out of work stressed and crying in frustration! That’s a new thing for me, and it was glorious.

Yesterday was Father’s Day (a huge Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s out there!), and I slaved all day to make my dad, brother, and boyfriend a fresh, homemade meal. It was super delicious, if I do say so myself…

Here are a few updates from the past week, and a picture of my girl, Shadow. She lives with my parents, and I have had her since I was THREE! I’m turning twenty (WUT) in two weeks, and she is still going strong!

~ I made homemade red velvet Orea cupcakes for Father’s Day yesterday. Okay. Yeah. They were amazing, and I feel so proud of myself for baking something from nothing to something delicious!

~ I just love skating. I also have realized that I only hate or love things. I never just “meh” anything, so that’s a thing.

~ I saw Perks of Being a Wallflower for the first time this weekend, and it was SO great! It is now of my favorite movies of all time. I also have a serious girl crush on Emma Watson. No shame, over here, people.

~ I am just happy, and I love it. (SEE what I mean? I love or hate, that’s it!)

Happy Monday!

A reminder.

As per usual, I attended the Hill last night to enjoy seeing some of my closest friends, take part in worship, and listen to our awesome pastor, John Purvis, speak. I know I mentioned earlier this week that this week had been an extremely stressful one and a struggle, and last night I was reminded of a very certain and important promise from Christ.

I am never alone.

Ever, ever, ever. There is never a moment where I am walking alone or facing anything alone. That is such a reassuring promise and truth. I have not remembered or really opened my eyes to see God’s provision for quite a while, but this week I saw Him move so powerfully. I am so thankful for that. SO, so thankful.

Here a few lyrics from a Chris Tomlin song the Hill Band preformed last night that spurred this thought process and allowing my mind’s eye to see this week through the lens of learning lessons and His provision.

“Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I’m holding on to Your promises

You are faithful
You are faithful”

PORTRAIT: John Ryan {Newborn}

Today I am sharing a few of my favorite images from my most recent newborn session. Jenni and Ryan contacted me a month or so ago in preparation of the arrival of little John Ryan, and I had been eagerly awaiting their session for a few weeks! Everything went so smoothly, and little John Ryan is already SO handsome! He has a sense of humor already too, because I can proudly say that he is my first newborn to pee on me while photographing. Ha!  I am now officially christened! Enjoy!

What a cute nursery!

And what  a CUTE baby boy!

I love him cuddled in momma’s arms!

SO sweet.

I love that both Jenni and Ryan were eager to take their own personal images of John Ryan during the session. Proud parents!

Ryan requested a few images with John Ryan in his Clemson hat and with a football! Since Ryan is a high school coach and passionate about sports, I’m so glad we made time for some more personalized images.

What a gorgeous family! Happy Thursday!

Just Because: Just one of THOSE days

You know when people say the phrase, “It’s just been one of those days.”? Well, can I coin the phrase, “It’s been one of those WEEKS.”? Ha! I know that sounds dramatic, but truly this week has been a whirlwind of stress and one thing after another. Even though it would be easy for me to have a bad attitude or be crazed with stress, I know that will neither help me nor get me any where. Am I not just a bundle of logic today?!

SOOO (I will stop the rambling), in lue of all the stress and such, I wanted to share some recent images of the girls. These images cheer me up when I look at them, and the fact that I currently have one kitten sitting on each side of me also warms my heart. Enjoy and do not let today get the best of you!

Sleepy girls…

Arya’s face just says, “Seriously? You woke me up from my nap for more pictures!?!”

I ended with this one because I love the focus on Maxine’s cute little nose!
